What makes Woodbridge School such a unique place? Well, above all else, it is an exceptionally happy school. When you visit, I am sure you will be struck by the warmth and sense of community. But it is much more than a kind and nurturing place – there is also a real sense of purpose.
We prepare our pupils with the skills and attributes that will enable them to thrive in an ever more competitive world. This means excellent academic achievement is just part of an outstanding educational experience.
We place equal importance on what happens inside and outside the classroom, deliver an authentic, holistic education that provides a foundation for life. Our sporting and performing arts facilities are amongst the very best in the country and what the pupils achieve is truly remarkable.
A Woodbridgian develops in creativity, empathy, the ability to work independently and work with others. The emphasis of the School is very much on developing the self-confidence to overcome any challenge, ensuring they emerge happy, resilient well-balanced young men and women.

Central to their well-being is the bond of mutual trust and respect that forms between a child and their class teacher. We take great care to nurture this bond, both through day-to-day teaching and through regular meetings that take place throughout the school day. Children are also encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities which help to develop their self-confidence and promote their individuality.
We believe in a strong partnership between parents and teachers. Members of staff are always available to discuss any aspect of a child’s development and there are many formal and informal occasions when parents can meet our teachers. There are also plenty of opportunities for members of the family to support the children in cultural and sporting activities.
It is important that parents enjoy being part of our school as much as their children do. We also include in our calendar a ‘Grandparents’ Morning’, when pupils can invite their grandparents or other members of the family or close friends to come and enjoy the school on a normal working day.
In addition to all the activities on offer at The Abbey, we also provide after-school care from 4.00pm until 5.00pm for those children not involved in a club and whose parents wish to collect them later than the normal end of school day.
